As of 30 December 2024, all companies, especially those trading <strong>agricultural and forestry products<\/strong>, will have to comply with strict sustainability requirements if they wish to continue to operate in the European market.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/logisber.com\/en\/transporte\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-16430 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/logisber.com\/contenido\/subidas\/2023\/06\/freight-transport-fastest-route-less-than-container-load-full-lcl-cargo-fcl.gif\" alt=\"freight-transport-fastest-route-less-than-container-load-full-lcl-cargo-fcl\" width=\"750\" height=\"230\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Although the <a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/EN\/legal-content\/summary\/fighting-deforestation-and-forest-degradation.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>regulation<\/strong><\/a> has been in force since June 2023, large and medium- sized companies have until the end of 2024 to adapt to the new requirements. Smaller companies, on the other hand, have a slightly longer deadline, until June 2025. This transition will allow companies to adjust their supply chains and ensure that their products comply with the required regulations. However, it is crucial to start preparing as soon as possible, since the regulations will affect a wide range of products.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Palm oil<\/strong> and palm oil derivatives, such as those used in cosmetics.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Soya<\/strong>, in both grain and processed forms.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cocoa<\/strong> and products containing cocoa, such as chocolate.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Beef<\/strong> and other meat derivatives.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Wood<\/strong> and wood-based products such as furniture or printed paper, with clear specifications for those produced before June 2023.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Rubber<\/strong> and rubber products.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Coffee products<\/strong>, both raw and processed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These products <strong>will have to be traceable<\/strong> to prove that they do not come from deforested or degraded land after December 31, 2020 Additionally, companies will have to provide proof of sustainability, which will include certificates, <a href=\"https:\/\/logisber.com\/en\/blog\/customs-auditing-logistics-process\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>audits<\/strong><\/a> and, in some cases, cooperation with regulatory bodies.
